A balanced, photographic documentary image showing a narrow, unsealed track cutting through regrowth forest on the edge of the Hoddle Range, illustrating the tension between access and impact. On one side, dense young eucalypts and wattles create a thick wall of varied greens, with leaf litter and small saplings crowding the understory. On the other, an older, more intact patch of forest shows larger trunks, tree ferns, and deeper shade. The track itself is rutted, with exposed pale soil and puddles reflecting the sky. Soft, filtered midday light passes through the canopy, creating an even, gentle illumination with mild contrast. Captured at eye level with a slight leading-line composition along the track, the scene feels calm, thoughtful and non-confrontational, perfect for community-minded conversations about responsible use and conservation.

Who We Are

We are a group of residents, visitors, businesses and landowners concerned about the protection of our natural environment.

Our focus is on the Hoddle Range and Wilsons Promontory region of South Gippsland.

This site is intended to bring like-minded people together to raise awareness of environmental issues affecting our region.

Many planning and development decisions are made for economical or political reasons and our goal is to provide this platform to present the environmental impact – to paint the full picture.
